Recycling is an economic development tool as well as an environmental tool. Reuse, recycling, and waste reduction offer direct development opportunities for communities. When collected with skill and care, and upgraded with quality in mind, discarded materials are a local resource that can contribute to local revenue, job creation, business expansion, and the local economic base.

Pellets are produced from the recycling of plastic materials made of PP, HDPE and LDPE.They are available in green, blue, grey, white and black and suitable for injection moulding or certain film-blowing applications.

Equipments required for the recycling of waste PE films {HDPE/LDPE} are Plastic grinder,  Water cooling Plastic recycling machine and generator.

Available figures from LAWMA, suggests that Lagos state generates over 9,000 metric tons of waste daily with about 1,200 metric tons being converted into other uses.

Recycled material are used in the production of  polythene sheets which is converted to nylon papers, shopping bags, packaging bags for industrial and domestic uses.

The market for polythene shopping bag in Nigeria is national. With a population of over 165 million people and an estimated national population growth rate of 5.7% per annum ,an average economic growth rate of 3.5% per annum in the past five {5} years, Nigeria has a large market for polythene shopping bag.

The need demand for packaging is increasing every day. Packaging improves image and branding of a product, hence the need for shopping bags. Almost every business uses shopping bags these days ranging from supermarkets, eateries, banks (cash bags), boutique, and bookshop to road side shops thereby creating large demand for the product.

In fact, it is one of the fasted selling consumer goods in the country today. This is because its demand has a relationship with the level of demand for other goods. The product is demanded all year round and not affected by season; nevertheless, it has a greater demand during the raining season.

The supply gap situation in the country has created a market gap estimated at N 2.7 Billion annually in revenue.
In spite of the very high level of demand, the supply of polyethylene product is limited. This is basically as a result of high cost of setting up this type of project in the country.

The demand for polythene shopping bags would continue to expand as the standard of living of the over 165 million population growing at the rate of 5.7% per annum continues to grow.

The use of recycled material reduces the cost of production. From the above, there exists a growing and sustainable market for recycled material.
